Earthing
Did you know that something as simple as going barefoot on the surface of the earth can help stabilize and promote healing in the human body? It is vitally important to connect our bodies regularly to "mother earth."
What and Why?
Most of us live for long periods of time, completely disconnected from the earth. Wearing shoes and living indoors promotes this estrangement. Yes, wearing shoes actually insulates us from the earth. Under these conditions, the human body is no longer able to receive the constant supply of free electrons and natural frequencies that our bodies need for health.
As we have become more insulated and disconnected from the earth, we have seen an increase in chronic health problems and sleep disorders that were almost unheard of 50 years ago. Research shows that most modern diseases are linked to inflammation and free radical damage. These symptoms reflect a shortage of electrons.
Where do these electrons come from?
1: The earth's electrical field is maintained by thunderstorms — 1,000 to 2,000 thunderstorms
are continually active across the earth. Since the earth's surface is highly conductive, this electrical charge is evenly and rapidly dispersed across the earth. Standing barefoot on the earth (or otherwise connecting to the earth) connects the human body with the unlimited supply of free electrons resident in and
on the surface of the earth. The whole circuit is referred to as the global electrical circuit. It is estimated that this current would disappear in less than an hour if all thunderstorm activity ceased. Standing barefoot on the earth also connects the human body with rhythmic cycles of the earth’s energy field.
These are essential for synchronizing biological clocks, hormonal cycles and physiological rhythms.
2: Our Bodies Are Mostly Water and Minerals
The earth's electric field is a continuous direct current (DC). Thousands of years of life on the planet have attuned our biology to this subtle field. Because the body is mostly water and minerals; it is an excellent conductor of electrons. The free electrons on the surface of the earth are easily transferred to the human body as long as there is direct contact. Unfortunately, synthetically-soled shoes act as insulators so that even when we are outside we do not connect with the earth's electric field. When we are in homes and office buildings, we are also insulated and unable to receive the earth's balancing energies. Simply walking Barefoot helps remedy this, and bring us back into balance.
Connecting with the earth can cause wonderful things to happen as well as reduce stress, tension and pain.
3: Because Free Electrons from the Earth Neutralize Free Radicals in Our Bodies
The earth is a vast reservoir of naturally produced electrons. This is important because these electrons stabilize (neutralize)
free radicals and stop free radical damage. The earth is therefore the best antioxidant available – and it's free. Connecting with
the electrons on the surface of the earth can stop the destructive cycle that causes free radical damage. No wonder re-connecting with the earth is so important for our well-being.
So for arthritis, osteoporosis, cancer, chronic fatigue, sleep disorders, etc., or just to maintain good health, consider the soothing, healing, naturally
antioxidant, power of the earth as a viable part of your healing regime.
In essence, what all this means is that we may want to consider spending time outdoors as much as possible--without shoes in order to
re-connect with the earth from which we came.

The Role of Water in Fat Metabolism
Incredible as it may seem, water is quite possibly the single most important catalyst in the metabolism of fats. Studies have shown that a
decrease in water consumption may enhance fat storage, while an increase in water intake can suppress the appetite naturally.
The importance of water consumption may be related to the kidneys inability to function properly without an adequate supply of water.
An increase in the consumption of water is the most effective treatment for fluid retention.
Although diuretics may temporarily reduce water retention, they also deplete the body of essential nutrients and impair metabolism.
Additional Benefits of Water
Water also aids in the relief of constipation.
On the average, an individual should drink approximately 96 ounces, (3 liters) of water at least per day. However,
individuals participating in a fat loss program should drink an additional eight (8) ounces of water for every 25 pounds over their ideal
weight. Water intake should also be increased if the individual is exercising briskly or residing in a hot climate.
How much in ounces per day should one drink?
Ideal Weight, 96 ounces per day
25 pounds overweight, 96 + 8 =104
50 pounds overweight, 96+ 16=112
75 pounds overweight 96+ 24=120
100 pounds overweight 96+32=128
When the body gets the water it needs to function optimally, its fluids are perfectly balanced. When this happens, you have reached the “breakthrough” point. What does this mean?
1. Endocrine gland function improves
2. Fluid retention is alleviated as stored water is lost.
3. More fat is used as fuel because the liver is free to metabolize stored fat.
4. There is a loss of hunger almost overnight.
The Anti-Aging Corner: For Men & Women
What is Beauty? Beauty is radiance from within. It is a certain level of confidence, a knowing smile, a willingness to be
excellent even when mediocrity is acceptable. Beauty is ridding the body of excessive toxins and clearing the mind of impure thoughts.
Beauty is laughing each day, and being at ease with oneself, and with ones fellows. Beauty is having the charisma and purity to
create any and all opportunities. Know that physical beauty is a function of inner cleanliness; of maintaining the proper acid/alkaline
pH balance in the body. Beauty also involves a willingness to become parasite free by eating raw foods and raw herbs that flush out parasites.
Some of the most beautifying foods are:
Aloe vera, arugula, burdock root, coconuts and coconut oil, cucumbers, durian, figs, papaya, pumpkin seeds, radishes, turmeric, and watercress.
At the Advanced Health Group, we advocate eating raw foods and drinking freshly juiced vegetables and fruits, because raw foods impart
vitality and life to the body. Cooked, devitalized foods are dead, de-mineralized and they hasten dis-ease, and the aging process.
Eating raw-plant foods allows you to rebuild yourself at the highest level.
